I’m glad to say after a nervous wait, yet again, my oncologist Dr Mark Pinkham of the Christie Hospital in Manchester said that the tumour in my brain has stayed dormant for the past three months.

I went in for my contrast MRI scans on Tuesday 3rd February 2015 with the always helpful Christie Hospital staff. As always the wait between having the scans (and the week leading up to the scans) and getting the results is a very nervous week for me, and any other cancer patient in the same position. After a slow morning on Thursday 5th February, Dr Pinkham had double the amount of patients in his clinic so I had a long wait. When Dr Pinkham came in, he cut straight to it relieving my stress and told me straight away – words that take a weight off a cancer patients shoulders… ‘the scans look good, and from my personal opinion they are better than what the report suggests’.

These scans are a very nervous time in my life, occurring every three months. This is because if the tumour grows, I will have to look at further brain surgery and then chemotherapy, shortening my life expectancy from what I was given last April in 2014 of 3-5 years.

Now that I have been given the good news, I’m looking at further travels for the next three months and making the most of my time in the UK and Europe! I’d like to say thank you to everyone for their constant support through my ongoing experience with cancer! 🙂
