On Thursday 4^th April I underwent an awake craniotomy, brain surgery whist being awake, to ‘de-bulk’ as much the tumour as possible. The neuro-psychologist, Dr Jacki Bambrough, said I was the first patient she has had that was excited at the prospect of being awake during brain surgery. We were in Ireland celebrating Paddy’s day on 16^th and 17^th March 2014 as a ‘normal’ person. The celebrations started for us at 2pm and went on through the night.
